Biostatistics teaches you how to plan your experiments, design experimental layouts, choose the appropriate statistical model, and analyze your results. The course covers the comparison of two or several means (including one-way and two-way analysis of variance), the relationship between two quantitative variables (correlation, simple linear regression, and prediction models), and an introduction to multivariate methods such as Principal Component Analysis, Correspondence Analysis, and Hierarchical Clustering. You will also learn to classify objects, such as microorganisms, based on their similarity or dissimilarity, and to use statistical software to carry out these analyses.
